Draw Strings...

Got an idea for an easy quick project, a drawstring bag/purse/thingy.  Sewing this way pretty straight forward, made a liner for the bags inside. Added on a bunch of extra junk to spice it up. Over all easy, till it came time for the draw string... being so small and tough to feed through... due to the size, then it got worse, cramming in the reverse feed loop..... Also closing the bag is a bit of a challenge, I used some nice thick cloth that was to my liking... plus the liner = thick cloth! Crazy cloth, could probably use this pouch as a dollfie shield or something,  or a weapon in it's own right, this is one Dollfie you don't want to mug! :P  *Whamo!!!*

I'm also making a satchel type bag pattern. I gave the pattern to a friend of mine to test out. Not sure if I'll get around to making it myself, but I'll post the patterns I made if it turns out.

Looking forward to working on something again soon though!

Costume Dress Part IV

Finally finished! After what seemed like weeks of pattern making/altering/ripping/stitching I can say this things is complete. Few accessories I would like to make for this outfit, but the bulk of it is done.

Great weather for a change, I though going to the lake with Hrist would be a perfect for taking pictures of her in her new outfit.

It was a pretty windy visit! But that didn't seem to bother Hrist.

A nice walk along the lakeside shore.

Overall, this project was a lot of fun, even with some frustrations :P Hopefully the results are satisfactory. :)

Costume Dress Part III

A week later, of pattern making and alterations and what not. As simple as this project was in my vision of it originally, it sure has become an uphill battle to figure out how things need to be and how things should be...

Muslin proto-types, pile up to the sky!

I'm undecided if this project so far has been epic fun or epic hell ;) but definitely a nice learning experience.

Installing the white liner I made for the upper top piece, should help with staining prevention a bit.

Work that had begun on the final pattern for the upper costume part. Think my last muslin test sample finally got the sleeves the right fit... and not to constricting.

Front flap piece, in final prep, reminiscence of Hrist's dress piece pattern design with my own style added to it. I am 'hoping' this will turn out nicely once added in... tough to say with my luck though...
