Commission Sword Work II

Parts for the commissioned sword arrived right on time, right before Christmas! Sadly I haven't been able to get a chance to work on them with the holidays going on.
So far so good with progress. So much surface work, I almost think it might be best to just recast in resin, unfortunately that would add more expenses to this project. I think next time I will think twice about working with a blade, keeping a smooth surface. luckily Kaine's sword is going to have some wear and serious use 'look' to it, or at least that's what I'm aiming for.  Nothing worse then a completely clean blade that's seen more then it's share of use. Save that for decoration swords :P

Blade Parts with Handles.
Other interesting issue I have to deal with is the seam on the blade. Fun stuff... should be really cool though once it's painted. Just waiting on prime to set for 24 hrs and buff again and wait again haha. .
Should be more on this project in the next week or so.

In other news... Lidia's belt buckle's finished and placed a print order. Can't wait to get that sometime in mid January.

Lidia's Gauntlets Part III

Gauntlets completed! Took a few photos with Lidia and Hrist to show off Lidia's new armor. Plan to do some other scenes eventually too.

Hrist: Lidia! Someone with a camera wants to take our photo!

Lidia: Get that camera out of here or lose it!
Lidia: Oh, it's just Somonul.

Lidia's Gauntlets Part II

Update on the gauntlets, a slow process waiting on paint to dry, and other stuff. Can't wait for the day when 3D printing, prints out super smooth items where you can just use an airbrush. If anyone knows of a print service that does, please let me know!

One gauntlet's almost complete. The other is still drying in between coats.

Lidia's Gauntlets Part I

Lidia's xmas gift arrived today! Hope this doesn't upset Hrist since I really haven't had a chance to do anything for her lately... yikes! -_- what was I thinking when I got another Dollfie!? One was a challenge enough to work with!

Now the crazy task of fixing these up, they need some serious work. Like seriously serious work. Some odd stair stepping on parts that's going to be a pain to buff out, but it has to be done. Need that initial Yay it's here, lets jump right into this project to die down so I can relax and take my time on it
I am happy to report the scale and size was a perfect fit though :D

Hrist's Make-Over v2

Well, finally, after months of debating I got Hrist a brand new head. figured the one she had now was toast, or at least beyond a quick salvage. For those who have been following my blog since I started posting projects, back in March "Hrist Head work", theres a section on my original face-up attempt for Hrist, and how that Sealer really screwed things up.

This time, the process went very smooth, in fact, I didn't even have to redo it, which is a first. usually I make some mistake at the last moment when it's almost done and am D:< Really? haha but not this time! Everything went great!

Biggest challenge of this project was getting Hrist's hair back on correctly! I put her wig on and was in shock. It doesn't even look like Hrist any more ;( only to find out her bangs were not level and correctly placed. haha few millimeters of height sure can make a difference it seems.

I left her head design the same, and touched up area where I just screwed up on the original. Real happy with this remake, I hope others are as well!
Now Hrist or I don't have to dread those close-up shots anymore! Haha

Hrist's Visit to Hai-lan

Hrist decided to vacation for the day in Hai-lan. Such a nice and stormy day for her, I think she had a really great time.
Posing in front of the entrance gates.
Hrist posing in front of the Moon Gate.

Hrist watching the large fish swim around.

Overall it was a great trip to COFCO Chinese Cultural Center! Can't wait to go again on another stormy day!
