Hrist Poster IX

At long last, it's complete! Hrist was most pleased with her portrait taken in Asgard. Took a little longer then normal, or at least what I had planned. Couldn't quiet be helped working multiple 'retail' jobs around the holidays though.  It is, what it is though. Just in time for Christmas too. Hopefully I can get a print made before the end of the year.

The big question for me now, is what to do next. No clue at the moment. I might do another scene, as I was pondering the idea of doing something Water Mirror related, or something with both Hrist and Lidia. No plans to work on any sewing projects either. I still need to finish Hrist's last outfit's coat, and Mari's main body piece. All require some form of 3D Printing or sculpting though. I'll figure out what I'll do next once things die down in the new year most likely. The Hrist and Lidia scene seems like a nice idea all of a sudden...

Hrist Poster VIII

Final teaser image before I post the final project in color. Still working on tweaking a few things. Almost there so close! Image above was from a save or two ago filtering out the shadows. I happened to have liked the way this looked and saved the variation of it.
Should have the final completed in a day or two if all goes well.

Hrist Poster VII

Work is nearing completion on this project! Still quiet a bit to go though.  Pretty sure I'll be able to have this one finished just in time to be a nice Christmas gift to myself I suppose.

Hrist Poster VI

Photo stuff out of the way. I really should have ironed out my green backdrop. had some wrinkle issues that made pulling out a nice artifact free green-screen a bit of an issue. Oh well. Luckily its just for a still portrait.

Now all that's left is for the home stretch of this project. Been having quiet a bit of fun listening to my old Valkyrie Profile 2 soundtrack while I work on this project.
I should have some more updates in the next few days or so, hopefully. Need to find more time. Z_Z

Hrist Poster V

Managed to take some photos before work today. Was having so much fun I didn't pay attention to time. Haha, fortunately I wasn't late though.

Now I have to find time to sort through 50 photos I took and pick out the one I'll use for the poster. :) decision time! I'm really liking the pose I'm posting above.

Hrist Poster III

Hrist is officially back in her armor as of today. Didn't take as long to put on I'm proud to say. And she's looking quiet good on her pedestal. :) Hoping tomorrow to get a chance to take some photos.
It's been pretty wild here, I havn't had a day off since the 7th. Sleep and power naps seems to be my newest staple here. No time for projects of any kind lately.
On a good note though, while I work so has my PC.
116 hours of render time on the first back-plate is now complete!

Hrist Poster II

Well work is in full swing on this project now. I'm super excited about this one. I did a large 3D rendering poster years ago 58", it's huge. And my old 3D model of Hrist I made years back was in it. This time around, Dollfie Hrist! And a lot better PC that can handle a scene like this. 300mil poly count would have destroyed my old system. Haha.
This poster won't be quiet as huge. I'm aiming for another 11x14 print to match with Lidia's.
Hopefully by tomorrow I can start the main rendering which should take a week. Perfect since I'll be working blackfriday and the Thanksgiving holiday, so I won't have much to do with a tied up PC rendering haha, It should work out perfectly ;)
Hopefully my random babbling rant makes sense here. It's almost 2am.

Hrist Poster

I think it's time Hrist got a poster of her own to match Lidia's, don't you?

This is the worst time of the year for me to be pondering a new project with so much work already happening here. But I might start playing around with some idea sketching for this one.
Part of me also really wants to attempt to redo her helmet to scale/fit even better then it already does, curse you darn big dollfie heads! :P

Bobs Biker Blast 2015

This year's Blast was a bit unique. A new facility! I really enjoyed this years setup. You didn't need to be up in the main concert area to enjoy the show, as they TV's all over the place.

This year was definitely the best one I've experienced so far. I especially want to thank HDoS this year for providing free bottled water for the event!
There were quiet a number of entertainers, from balloon animals, to ice carving. I was even surprised to see a Progressive Shocks vendor too.

At around 8:00pm it was a 30 minute countdown for the Doobie Brothers. Who to my surprise were very much on time! Usually there's that extra 'wait' but not this year. I managed to snag a good spot in the packed crowed where I quickly took some photos. Really got a good chance to test out my camera. Might be a good idea for me to save up for an event lens, as I found myself swap'n out lenses frequently...

Great time I had! Already can't wait for next year!!!

Dollfie Halloween Meet 2015

This is always my favorite meet of the year. Luckily I was able to get this day off, not by request, but some freak stroke of luck that they picked this day to be the day of the meet.
A really huge turn out too this year.

Hrist went this year again, while Lidia chose to stay at home once again this year. Lidia's always got better things to be doing then finding time to socialize, or attempt to anyway. Hrist was surprised that there were no real shenanigans at this meet. It was probably the most normal meet she's ever been too, aside from the annual matsuri festival...

Cheap strobe light fun.

Lots of great fun this year and nice decorating for the event. Not to mention the good food, or junk food that was available at the party! Think I might have over indulged a bit to much... :P

Hrist really thought this pikachu outfit was quiet adorable.

Printed Artwork

Got my 11x14 print made the other day! Sure looks nice. Had to settle with a cheap frame though, Lidia didn't approve of that to much... but it is what it is.
Now for an even greater dilemma.... where to hang this sucker...  I've tried two spots and it just didn't seem to work out right, almost like I was trying to shoe-horn it in somewhere. X_X
Might just chuck it in the closet for figuring out where it's gonna go some other day.

Front Brakes Replace - Cleaning

Swapped out my front brake pads on Rose today before work. Sure is a lot of fun doing mechanical things. I wound up taking the caliper off the fork today and giving it a good cleaning. There was some serious dust buildup. Nothing a bit of brake cleaner and a toothbrush wasn't able to tackle though.

This post also makes a useful date reminder from when I last replaced my front pads. :)

Well the new facility is completed! And wow is it huge vs their prior building. With two floors and a basement below to explore I blew almost 2 hours before I eventually noticed the time and had to scramble to work.

I do like how the light from outdoors interacts with the ambient lighting inside. It provided not only a pleasant atmosphere, but also made for some nice photos.

Can't wait to go back and explore some more!

Lidia - Project II - Poster

At long last! My poster project is complete! Before I have my 11x14 print made I plan to do a quick test print at the print studio to make sure the colors are satisfactory. This project has been a ton of fun for me. Loved every minute of it. Wish I had more patience to do more like this.
The background plate was 3D modeled and Rendered.

Total render-time was 98 hours on my system. at 7125x9500px
Didn't track post production time, It was a lot of on and offs though.

Bit of information about the scene, for those that might be interested.
Lidia's about to engage in battle with a Baalur general.One of the the denizens of the abyss in my novel series I've been writing.

Discussing building custom BJD's lately has just made me want to create a BJD Baalur just so Lidia can have something to beat up in her spare time. haha Slap some LED lights in his head for a nice glow effect.

Someday I do hope to get the chance to do a poster scene of Hrist in either Asgard or Valhalla. Definitely a wishlist for future projects for me.

New Outfit II

Finished Hrist's Vest today. All that was left was a belt that was not so fun to create. I wound up having to hand embroider two black lines along the belt.

The vest itself is black and red. I should have some photos posted up in the next few days or so.
Can't wait to get some time to start working on the main jacket part. What a task that will be though.

Cloak III

Finished up the cloak the other day. This is the one I'll be selling.  Cloak is fully lined on the inner side. Liner was stain treated before the making of this cloak. Outer side however has not been stain treated, I may do that before I put this up for sale. Fine faux fur used for the upper top, so soft you'll find yourself petting your dollfie. Or at least I found myself doing that once I put it on Hrist >_>;

Going to aim for $35 for this cape.

Planning to sell a few other things down the road as well. I need a Marianda saving fund!

Cloak II

Lidia's cloak is finished! A rather simple project this time. Now I just need to finish up the other one.

Lidia - Project I

Yup, lots of junk going on lately. Three projects to be exact! haha Barely got time for them.

A sneak peak of a poster I'm working on featuring none other then my lovely Lidia! Really going to have some fun with this project for certain. Going to have it printed and framed for my room once it's all finished.  Aiming for an 11x14 print.

Cloak I

Just started a new project the other day! A new cloak. Planning to keep this one simple. Just black and some fur on the top and a black liner. Also planning to sell this one. I'm going to do a modified pattern I created for Lidia as well though.  I don't want a full closed cloak. almost a cross between a cloak and a cape. Trying to avoid the call of embroidery for it X_X

I'll update more once I get some more progress going.

New Outfit I

Before I forget again.... I took some photos haha. Finally some progress images of the new outfit I've been working on.

Hoping tomorrow I'll get a chance to start drafting up patterns for the tunic, and then eventually the main coat. The main coat is going to require quiet a bit of 3D printed emblems/buttons that go on it. Pondering using sculpy for it, most likely will just model it though and have printed.

Yup, hell froze over for certain, when you see Hrist wearing 'white' ... I think she looks pretty good in white though, or maybe that's just my biased opinion there... ;) Luckily her coat is black though so there's still hope!

The Project Continues...

Shirt work, has been completed. I only made one shirt. Was planning on making two. but looks like that isn't going to happen at this time...
Started working on this scarf type thing. Forgot it's actual name once again, but yeah, it's the scarf thingy. And almost finished with it. Test cloth worked well. Had to redo a pattern after my sewing machine snagged up shredded the cloth real good.

Hopefully get some photos of the progress in a few days.

Pants Project VI

Not much new here, got around to taking some slightly better photos of the new pants though. I've also started progress on the undershirt that will go with this set. It's going to be plain white so I won't need to hastle with a liner. but I want a nice finished look still, so I'll be playing around with that a bit. My mock test shirts actually that wad of cloth behind Hrist's boots. haha. The other flappy looking piece is a test sleeve that I won't bother sewing in on the initial test.

Hrist is definitely ready for a vacation X_X

Pants Project V

Photo of the pants on Hrist. First pair turned out pretty well. Finishing up a few parts on the second pair that has a few alterations. Can't wait to start working on the under shirt and vest. I do need to start modeling on some of the buttons and add-ons for the main coat itself. Might be a while before that happens though :/

Pants are nearly done! Well one pair actually is haha, Need to get some photos soon. Plan on doing that once the second pair is done.
Wow already the 17th! Where is this month going?! ugh.... *casts time stop* X_X

Pants Project III

Finished up my muslin test pants. Made a few fitting alterations, and am preparing to begin work on the final version. A bit nervous the liner may restrict leg movement for a 'sitting down' pose but there's plenty of slack for knee bending action.

Hrist's sweatshops' in full work once again. working on these pants.  So far everything's going well. I have a lot of material that's going to overlap around the waist area though. I got a bad feeling it'll wind up rather 'thick' in that area. This could cause conforming issues. Hopefully it won't be to bad.

Gasp, they're white! and not black! I probably don't need a liner but I'm adding one anyway.

Pants Project I

Started drafting up patterns for a new pair of pants for Hrist today. Should be a rather interesting project for me. something simple but not quite overboard like most my stuff haha. I'm planning to do an outfit from FFXIV. Or at least that's what the theme of this project will be.
