Ash's Sword Complete

Rather fun project, and everything went pretty smooth! Tried out a few new things making this, and it seemed to help my workflow a bit more. Different paints and sealers that is.

The swords about two inches bigger then Hrist's not to bad, and it's still pretty light weight enough that Lidia can hold it one handed.

It is dwarfed by Lidia's sword though. I received the first of 4 parts of her sword... >_> it's pretty big That'll be my next project once all the parts do arrive though.

Sword Work and Trip

Just got back from a short trip to the rim country here. Enjoyable time, I decided to take Lidia with me. We managed to get a lot of photos done, and pull off almost 3 miles of hiking into the wilderness. Loads of rain, hail, and strong winds sure made this trip an exciting one.
Once I get some spare time I'll begin working on Chapter 4 of my photo story series!

Sword update, I finished the base coat paint, and began adding the runes on the blade.

Also a further update, I think I'm done with Shapeways for weapons.... I'm planning to do Lidia's sword eventually. and had several models denied for being a weapon.... o_O Yet... I just got this 13.7" sword from them. To many silly regulations, there's a few 'work-around' but seriously? o_O Sure, Lidia's sword is rather menacing looking, and it can cleave entire planets in half... but just print the thing already!
Needless to say I'll be looking for a new company that can print models.
I know I looked into ABS before, and figured it was to much of a pain to clean the surfaces(acetone smoothing) My workflows evolved around plastic/nylon printing. I might have to force myself to accept something other then that though.
Well it's late, and I think I've ranted long enough.

Ash's Sword Arrives I

New Project arrived from Shapeways today. I finished modeling a new sword from my story series a while back and recently had it printed.

 Looking forward to starting this project. I did finally manage to get Lidia and Hrist's new eyes in! :) Hrist took on a bit of a 'darker' feel with her new eyes. Strange how a bit more 'black' can drop the normal look she once had. I'll have to get around to taking some photos sometime of the new eyes :)
Lidia I'm still debating on semi realistic vs her manga style I created for her. :X tough choices as always X_X

Eyes Final

Finished the new eyes. Lots of eyes, lots of variations.

I went with highlight-less and highlights, and realistic eyes, Waiting on them to set so I can take some better photos of them. Lidia's new eyes turned out nice. I added some gold accents to Hrist's eyes which really seem to reflect the light around quiet well.
I also wound up testing out some 22mm eyes too making two variations of Neptune's eyes.

One set of them glows in the dark. I also added a bit of glow in the dark to Lidia's eyes, just real subtle, I still plan on doing most of Lidia's eye glow in post.

Eyes

Been super busy again lately X_X Haven't had much time for anything sadly. Did manage to start working on some new eyes for both Hrist and Lidia though! Excited about these. Hopefully on Monday I'll actually have some time to work on them a bit... X_X  Got my fingers crossed!

Hrist Face-up v7

Here we go!

Version 7.
Think I like this for now... all I need to do is make her new eyes... Everything else, seems to sit well for my tastes. That could change by tomorrow though X_X

Best of all no wild mistakes cropped up with this faceup so I can rest a bit easier knowing I won't be omg that spot from pastel dust! D: or over spray haha. I did wind up adding in eyelashes from Volks as well.

And with the wig on, she didn't look super sad/depressed like version 6 did.

Hrist: What...what's this? A little Nagato!?

Hrist: Sho cute! Okay, so she's not exactly a squirrel... hah-ha!

Hrist's new friend also arrived. :)

What other plans are ahead? I'm sort of working on a new 3D sword. Dunno if it will be printed or not, but it might be a fun project if I does.

Hrist Face-up v6

Hrist Version 6 was underway! Yup, my sixth iteration of her... one can never truely be happy with your custom creations, especially with your own stuff, like Lidia X_X I will redo her face someday too.  But for now Hrist... back in the spotlight.
So what's new? My 5th 02 head... sheesh X_X I got a lot of heads. but this time hopefully will be the last time, my 6th attempt at least I think it's my 6th.... might have lost track D: dunno but I'm calling this #6... is finished or was finished... a day later I didn't like it and wound up wiping it completely and am now on #7... why you ask? well everything was going super well.. I didn't do cheek blush this time, found out I like a subtle amount.  The lips were way to big, and Hrist just had this weary, sad, tired with life look on her face. It just wasn't the Hrist I know. So I wound up doing redoing the head again...aiming for a slightly more mean rough look to her eyes.

Also I did add her new eyes I custom made for her! I love the new eyes. Sadly I botched them up and am awaiting for new blanks.... but they look O_O to me, and that's a first haha. They reflect light and have a metallic gold shimmer to them. How fitting for Hrist I think.  What do you think of the eyes? :S Hopefully after v7 and the new eyes I'll be finally done with Hrist's head...
