Arizona Bike Week 2015

What a fun week this year! This time of the year is always like Christmas for me. Lots of great times with all the charity rides. I did the "Saddle Up for Kids" run again this year. Sadly no clouds, just blue skies. That didn't stop me from taking photos though. Wound up making more side stops this year then any year prior. Always meet a lot of interesting bikers from all over the country on these runs too.

Lots of vendors at West World this year too, think it might have been the largest pool of vendors I've seen, or maybe just my imagination. Seemed more commercialized. For me the biggest negative this year was the lack of another AZ Rally Pin from H-D. o_O that's two years in a row now... hmm. I'm always filled with excitement to get a pin from H-D on stops. Ah well. Also the H-D truck was on the 'inside' of the fence grounds this year.

Ted Nugent concert at West World
Lots of amazing vendors and bikes. Can't wait for next year already!

News Truck at HDoS before the big departure.

Close to Black Canyon City.

Harley - Headlamp Hood Work "Paint"

Finished up my headlamp hood project finally.

Sure was a lot of fun. Since I can never seem to resist adding gold to things, I wound up playing with some gold leaf. When masking out my original design, I think it was a bit to complex for my skill level and things went south rather fast. I wound up sanding out and repainting for a 2nd round. This time I made the design a bit easier to cut out, and pre-cut the masking tape before applying it to the finish. This seemed to procure better results. However I wasn't to pleased with the 'sharp' edges, the gold leaf peeled away in some areas. Not to noticeable though...
Had I done stripes or something 'simple' it wouldn't have had that issue. I'll have to find some scrap aluminum to play around with down the road...

Sanded down (left) and primed matte base coat (right)

Hoping to do more of this type of stuff. Really need 'proper' tools though and setup, especially for painting.
Upon finishing this project, I can totally see Ahly becoming a reality someday! :D

Hrist's 2nd Birthday

Hrist hits the big "2" today! Can't believe it's been two years already. Wow. Where does time go? I remember when Hrist first arrived 2 years ago it was a very stormy day. How fitting 2 years later it's quiet a stormy day out here in Arizona once again.

Hrist's 2nd Birthday Celebration.

Lots of fun and exciting adventures, hope this next year brings even more!
