Pants Project I

Started drafting up patterns for a new pair of pants for Hrist today. Should be a rather interesting project for me. something simple but not quite overboard like most my stuff haha. I'm planning to do an outfit from FFXIV. Or at least that's what the theme of this project will be.
More info on this hopefully in the next few days or so.

Arizona Dollmeet July 2015 Part II

As mentioned earlier I didn't take to many photos at the meet, but I did take a few ;)

Normally I don't post large web photos, but I decided to release a few larger then normal images :)

Enjoy! :)

Arizona Dollmeet July 2015

Been a long time since I've had a chance to make it to a dollmeet.  Had to cut it in half due to work. I did manage to get some photos in. It sure was great seeing all the regulars and new dolls that showed up today!

Can't wait for the next meet. I did get a few ideas today for a possible Halloween outfit for Hrist.

I'll post a few photos when I get time later in the week.

Lidia Portrait Render

Render of the background took 18 hours to render using just two cores.  I made a few enhancements to my green screen background. Did I ever blog on that first attempt? X_X I'm sure I did somewhere here in the past. Using some cheap green sheet cloth.  I angled the lighting differently to backlight the green, and it seemed to produce better results. I have more to try for the next time I do a project like this. Lots of fun too! I like working on this stuff better then painting props haha. But I still hate modeling X_X I'll have to make a better scene sometime. I did forget how slow a process 3D work actually is X_X modeling and texturing are always time sinks.
I might get a print made of this portrait, but sorry Lidia, it's not poster material yet!

Renderman Tests

June sure went by fast, and what a busy month for me X_X No new projects started. Haven't had time for anything sadly. How ever I have had a chance to play around with Renderman a bit lately, and love it completely. I've been using Mentalray for years, and it did not take me long to sway me from MR at all. RM just makes sense to my brain. It's very intuitive and user friendly. And I don't feel like a dog, that burred a bone. and forgot where, and starts digging up the entire backyard in hopes of finding the correct node to use/settings to create a shader that looks ok. Or the workaround bypass to achieve an effect.

Lidias sword, my first test render using RM shaders.

I've only brushed a bit of the surface of RM and haven't had a "wtf ugh" moment yet.
At this point, it's looking like so long MR for me... might actually be inspired enough to start doing renderings once again. it's been years for me!
